I am an undergraduate student at Fordham University trying to develop my computer science experience to determine if coding will become an integral part of my career. When I first took Computer Science I with Dr. Leeds, I decided to move forward from my original goal of becoming a state lawyer. I loved seeing the aesthetic of a well-formatted and efficient code. I realized that my passion for mathematics and computer science could be tamed by becoming a software engineer. Moreover, I have held various tutoring and counseling jobs at several locations including Bronx Early College Academy and Roosevelt High School. My hope with this, in addition to becoming a software engineer, is to become a professor who can inspire students to join the computer science field. The overall goal of participating in Neuroscience/Computer Science research and working at Deloitte IT Services is so that in the future, I will slowly gain more experience at different companies. Once I have built myself up sufficiently, I hopefully will enter a part-time software engineering occupation. If my plans flow smoothly enough, I will also be attending Columbia University’s engineering school as a part of the Fordham-Columbia 3-2 program..
